Main Game - Rules

To play Fantasy Fund Football each participant (Team Manager) builds a team by choosing from a range of investment funds classed as defenders, midfielders or attackers.

In the Main Game, each Team Manager will be able to invest a virtual £100,000 by building a team from a choice of around 400 investment funds. The Team Manager with the highest value team at the end of the game will win the main prize. Other Main Game prizes are also available - please refer to Main Prizes / Staff Prizes.

Rules Referee

If an error is made by the Team Manager at any point during the game, a 'rules referee' will appear showing a yellow card, explaining where they have gone wrong and how to put it right.

Registration

Entry into the Game is free and only one entry per person is permitted. The Game is only available to UK residents aged 16 or over. Registration to participate in the Game can only be made online using the official game sites

The registration period closes one month before the end of the Game.

Building your team

Step 1 ‒ Choose your unique team name and manager nickname

Step 2 ‒ Design you team badge and shirt

Step 3 ‒ Select your team formation

Step 4 ‒ Select your team and substitutes

The goalkeeper for every Team Manager will be 'Cash'. Each Team Manager then chooses their starting line up of 10 investment funds and selects an additional six investment funds to sit on their substitute's bench. The substitute investment funds can be made up from any positions (for example a Team Manager could select six attackers if they wanted).

If a Team Manager is not sure which fund(s) to choose, a 'Lucky Dip' function is available letting the game engine choose the investment funds for them within the default 4-4-2 formation. The lucky dip will always include two Skandia funds within its selection.

Initially the game will allocate £10,000 to the 'goalkeeper' and £9,000 to each of the 10 outfield players.

Skandia defines whether an investment fund is classed as a defender, midfielder or attacker. Details of this can be found in the Terms and Conditions.

Step 5 ‒ Register

Mini Leagues

A Team Manager can create up to five mini leagues and invite family, friends and colleagues to join them. When a Team Manager creates a mini league they become Chairman of that league and have discretion over who can join that mini league.

Each mini league needs a minimum of five Team Managers to join the league in order for it to be activated. A mini league can have a maximum of 20 Team Managers.

Each Team Manager can also be a member of up to ten other mini leagues.

Only active mini leagues are eligible for prizes.

The registration period for mini leagues closes one month before the end of the Game.

Transfer Window

The game is split into two distinct phases, each lasting two months, with a transfer window at the end of month two.

Phase 1 ‒ Start of the game to the first transfer window (last week of month two)

Phase 2 ‒ Starts at the end of first transfer window and lasts to end of the game.

During the transfer window, Team Managers can change some or all of the investment funds that sit on their substitute's bench.

During the transfer window Team Managers have the option to rebalance their team back to the original proportions allocated to each player - 10% of their team value into the goalkeeper and 9% into each of the outfield players.

Substitutes

Team Managers have six substitute investment funds that can be used to replace existing investment funds in their team at any point.

Investment funds that have been substituted will then sit on the substitute's bench. These are 'greyed out' and unable to rejoin the game (until the next transfer window).

Prizes

The Game judge's decision is final ‒ full details can be found in the terms and conditions.

Skandia employees

Skandia employees are not eligible for the Main Game prizes but separate Skandia employee prizes will be awarded.
